Leioa exceeds the proportion of green areas per inhabitant recommended by the World Health Organisation (9 m2 per inhabitant), reaching 17 m2 per inhabitant, which will be extended to 20 m2 with the urban developments planned for the near future.<\/p><p>The land on which these new green areas are located has been obtained thanks to the urban developments carried out over the last few years in compounds were built:<\/p><ul><li>A circular pond in an area of hazelnut trees to supply water to the estate.<\/li><li>A construction that could have been a laundry shed or a small greenhouse located next to the pond.<\/li><li>A tennis court surrounded by magnolia trees and now covered with grass.<\/li><li>A wide stone staircase lined with rose bushes on both sides&#8230;<\/li><\/ul><p>The family started to build the residence, but it seems that, due to the death of the patriarch, everything was abandoned for 100 years.<\/p><p>Brambles and undergrowth covered the grounds, and the estate underwent a naturalisation process until Leioa Town Council acquired it.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div can rest in open fields, in areas that have been preserved as \u00abwilder\u00bb and lusher, where you can hear the birds chirping and enjoy small lakes where you can hear the water flowing.<\/p><p>A offers services and infrastructures that make it accessible to everyone, and it has a bike lane that connects with the other parks and the towns.<\/p><p>Its gardens are inspired by those of the great Victorian estates, and it was originally divided into separate zones with gazebos, rose gardens, stone benches, a croquet lawn and tennis sculptures, such as the Discobolus by Myron, which is still preserved, and others outside the grounds, such as the replica of Torso and classical columns, are located on the roundabout at the intersection of the Iparragirre Etorbidea and Euzko Gudariak avenues.<\/p><p>It also housed a vegetable garden, pastures, a greenhouse, water reservoirs, chicken pens and ponds.<\/p><p>The entire site The adjacent watercourse is home to naturally mature oak and alder groves.<\/p><p>The <strong>Memorial Collection<\/strong> is located between the Faculty of Science and Technology and the Faculty of Fine Arts. urban park which offers children&#8217;s playground equipment and games in the town and in the surrounding areas.<\/p><p>This new green lung of Leioa not only has recreational areas and children&#8217;s playgrounds, but also a picnic area, an agility circuit for dogs and a space for festive-cultural events. There are also several pedestrian routes, as well as bike racks, benches, litter bins, fountains and a public toilet.<\/p><p>It is located in the Elexalde neighbourhood, in the natural area of Errotabide-Arriena and a large area between the stream and Avenida Elexalde. <br \/>The park is connected to the Elexalde Mill via a new path that surrounds hundred-year-old oak trees and the remains of an 18th century farmhouse. <br \/>In order to access to the site, there are three pedestrian accesses throughout the park: <\/p><ul><li>One of them is new and goes from the mill to the park diversified so that children of different ages can have fun and enjoy the park:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Upper children&#8217;s playground area:<\/strong> It has 4 sub-areas with several slides of different heights, swings of different types, as well as balancing elements, mobile platforms, etc. adapted to children with disabilities or limited movements.<\/li><li><strong>Lower children&#8217;s playground area:<\/strong> It has two long circuits for all ages including various climbing and balancing elements, platforms, hammocks, etc., with different levels of difficulties so that children of It also has a double fountain (for people and dogs) as well as a bench and specific litter bins.<\/li><li><strong>Open-air cultural festival area:<\/strong> An open-air and circular space to hold and can take place cultural or leisure events.<\/li><li><strong>Landscaping:<\/strong> The previous trees have been relocated and all green areas have been reseeded. In the next months the gardening service will plant flowers, shrubs and trees.<\/li><\/ul><p>The intervention in the area will be completed with a \u201chealth park\u201d , planned for the Leioandi area, very close to Arriena. An urban green space that will incorporate bio-healthy elements so that it may encourage outdoor physical exercise and healthy habits among the inhabitants of Leioa.<\/p><p><strong>Come just to relax
