The Origin

leioa gastro+

Leioa Gastro+ is the culmination of an idea that stemmed from the Strategic Tourism Plan, devised by Leioa Town Council in 2021, which aimed to define Leioa’s gastronomic profile.

A project that has been in development since 2023, thanks to the support of the Tourism Board, which relates to another challenge: that of Leioa Universitaria, namely connecting the EHU/UPV, the School for Hospitality and Catering, and Leioa City Council as an articulating nexus and a hub for innovation and knowledge.

The Council of Leioa is once again bringing together young talent from the university campus under the name LEIOA GASTRO+LAB.

A new challenge that got the Catering School of Leioa, and the Faculty of Sciences, Department of Plant Biology and Ecology of the University of the Basque Country sitting down at the same table.
